As part of its ongoing efforts in objectively imparting scientifically-sound information on gene modification (GM) technology and genetically modified organisms (GMOs) to the public, GMAC is organizing an inter-school competition - the GMAC Student Reporters' Challenge 2009. Participants of the competition would create video clips on “The Facts and Myths of GM foods." Registration for the competition is now closed. Multi-Agency Circular on Biosafety Guidelines for Research, Release, and Importation of GMOS
GMAC has published biosafety guidelines for research as well as commercial release of GMOs. The Ministry of Health, Ministry of Manpower, Ministry of the Environment and Water Resources, National Environment Agency, and Agri-Food and Veterinary Authority of Singapore, have issued a joint circular to encourage researchers, importers, and other relevant stakeholders dealing with GMOs to comply with the GMAC guidelines.
